This weeks Focus on Life blog topic is colour. I've been working on a few pieces in bright primary opaque colours, something very outside the box for me. I usually work with reactive glass and encase everything in clear for the most part. It's exciting to just focus on the colours, the shapes are fairly simple, it's the colour palette I am trying to mesh together. All I have left to do is find the perfect hot pink!

Im addicted to color lately! Your colorful beads are awesome... like candy! :D
Try a dark pink from Effrete with a light casing of clear and then CIM's cranberry pink over it. I think that will get you a very nice fushia/hot pink! (Having the clear in between the pink and cranberry seem to prevent the encasement from cracking)
Smooches!
I like these chunky shapes! Especially the ones I spy with the silver wire. I hope we see what you're doing soon!
Nikki-Cupcake, thanks for the recipe! Now if only I could encase rubino without it cracking... argh!
such scrummilicous colours!! you'll be able to make a veritable feast with these gorgeous beads :)
have a happy saturday and a great week!

Oh you are so right, the perfect hot pink would really put this in high gear. I think you are more than well on your way with stretching out of the colour box

I LOVE lampwork glass beads. I find there are no other bead that has such intense color while allowing light to shine through in some cases. Yours are beautiful.
