Back to the Future

Interesting blog topic on Flaming Hot this week. Back to the future, what will the world of glass look like in the future? I justcannot even begin to imagine it! With all the talent there is in the glass world right now I see great things! Maybe new glass with less metals and more color? Maybe more energy efficient kilns and concentrators? Who knows the sky is the limit!

New Goddess Style

I have a new goddess style. She's made with cane I've made myself. I've mixed soft glass, enamels and silver together and pulled it out into a cane. Then I made little ladies with them! I got the idea from Amber (Naos) a very talented beadmaker. Lilac up on ebay this week is made with this cane.

The Little Things

The Flaming Hot blog topic this week is "what are the little ways you enjoy glass". My favorite thing about glass is the reactions you get from the different colors. I suppose some people get frustrated when things come out looking slightly different than planned, to me it's often a fun surprise. My second favorite thing is all the great people I've met!

What a WEEK!

What a great week! I spent 5 day in Pt Townsend, visiting with Nicole LB and Andrea Guarino-Slemmons. I saw Andrea's new Charm-n-Bead bracelet they really are great! Nice workmaship and fit the Troll/Pandora size beads! I got one for myself!

I have a new micro goddess up on ebay this week. Miss Cashmere, she's very sweet.

What's my staple?

What's my staple glass piece to make? A questions raised on Flaming Hot this week. This changes once and a while for me. Right now I love making itsy bitsy goddesses. I love the ones under 2 cm, something about them just makes me smile!

Flaming Hot topic is about testing new glass colors this week. When the latest batch of vetrofond odd lots came out I was determined to test all the colors before ordering pounds of them. Often when I jump in and order alot of new colors I find I don't like them! I have tried out about 6 of them, and peetered out. I should tackle that again this week I guess?

Well it's a new year and I have made some resolutions. I hope to apply to at least one juried art show. Filberg Festival is first on my list. I hope to promote myself more, and possibly get a website going.

Personal goals are to have more fun!

I hadn't thought about my plans for this year till I read the Flaming Hot blog topic of the week.
