How much time does it take?

The Flaming Hot blog topic of the week is, "To run your business, how much time do you spend doing things other than create?" The answer, alot! Promoting ones self takes up time and energy pretty much every day. Listing new items, taking photos, uploading everything. Checking stock, ordering supplies. It never seems to end! I love glass and beadmaking, I wouldn't trade it for anything. But a little more free time would be nice once and a while!

My favorite bead

I rarely get moved by one of my own beads, but this one speaks to me. It reminds me of walks on the beach, looking into tide pools at low tide. As a kid I spent alot of time at the beach, I wonder if that's why this bead speaks to me more than others. Anyways, I love the colors and find this one very soothing!

How much time does it take?

This weeks Flaming Hot blog topic is "To run your business, how much time do you spend doing things other than create?" My answer ALOT! Aside from making beads there is assembling finished jewelry. Promoting yourself, which I find takes up alot of my time. Doing shows, taking photos for online sales, applying for shows etc etc. I love working for myself and being able to melt glass, but it can be hard to budget your time well. Plus when the glass muse leaves it's very hard to get motivated again!

Busy weekend!

I spent last weerkend in Pt Townsend! I had a blast! Andrea, Kathy and I went to La Conner for a trunk show for Sticks. I fell in love with a chair but decided to have one made more in a southwestern style. Little did we know we'd drive through three snow storms to get there and home again!

Double Helix Glass

I have been playing with Double Helix glass alot lately. I love the way the heavily silvered glass fumes the ivory glass, causing the crackling type effect. Here's a few of my favorites!

Spring Sleeps!

The boys love sleeping in the warm spring sun. Redman was acutally sleeping when I went to get the camera. By the time I got it he had gotten up, and was bugging Cruize to get up! Cruize did finally get up but not before having a good roll.

I am almost completely caught up to re taking my photos with my new camera! I have a couple new listings on Etsy, some fun daisy beads for spring!
